compact lifting wedge

compact lifting wedgeA steel wedge can be used to separate a couple of heavy objects, with the use of a hammer and some muscle power. Alternatively, you can use the Simson Compact Lifting Wedge and do the job a lot easier.

The Simson lifting wedge comes in 10 tonne and 20 tonne capacity hydraulic tools. The lifting wedge needs only an 8mm gap to start. The lifting wedge can provide a 50mm stroke in steps of 10mm at a time. Now this is a much better than using a hammer and avoiding potential injury and damage to the surfaces you are separating.

hydraulic lifting wedgeA hydraulic lifting wedge can be described as a hydraulic jack having a specially designed tool with a steel wedge-shaped nose. The Simson compact wedge lift has a flat plate, with a stepped steel plate. These two plates are separated by the steel wedge sitting inside these two steel plates, which spreads itself, according to the movement of the ram of the hydraulic tool. The Simson wedge lift also provides a parallel lift, when the jaw opens.

The hydraulic lifting wedge is a tool that greatly facilitates heavy lifts in limited spaces, does this job with ease and safety and the compact range offers leak free reliable service. Some examples where this wedge lift can be used are:

lidfting wedge for heavy lifts
  • Alignment of heavy machinery for installation.
  • Separating heavy machinery for maintenance.
  • Lifting heavy equipment from engine mounts.
  • Temporary support for positioning of pipelines.
  • Hydraulic lifting wedges can also be used to separate flanges (however there is a better tool for this - see hydraulic flange spreader).
  • The possibilities are endless where there is a heavy load and a tight gap.

lifting wedgeThe Simson hydraulic wedge lift requires the smallest access gap of the existing tools in the market, being only 7 mm for the 10 tonne lifting wedge. The largest lifting wedge provides 20 tonne lifting force. This full load can be placed on the first step of the wedge lift as there is a steel wedge underneath as support. The Simson hydraulic lifting wedge comes in two basic configurations:

1. Lifting wedge - The typical porta-power configuration, where the lifting wedge requires an external source of hydraulic power (hand pump or power pack), being connected to a hydraulic hose, requiring fittings and quick-couplings for the connection, or

2. Compact lifting wedge - only available from the Simson range, which incorporates the pump, oil reservoir and pressure relief valve in a single compact tool. This lifting wedge is single person, hand operated heavy duty hydraulic power tool. It is lightweight and an essential practical tool for heavy lift when the gap is tight. This heavy duty wedge lift has the ability to work in harsh environmental conditions, even underwater. Besides, not requiring hoses, fittings and quick-couplings the compact system is the ideal tool to increase productivity, protect machines from hammering a steel wedge, can be used for speed such as emergency rescue and eliminating oil leaks from pumps and hoses in an environmentally sensitive area.

hydraulic lifting wedgeThe Simson hydraulic lifting wedge is a high-quality tool manufactured according the most stringent quality control process and using the highest grade metal alloys, having a broad range of applications.
